WE NEED A RADICAL NEW APPROACH TO THE BRAIN ISSUES
THAT STEAL MINDS AND LIVES!
Over 300,000 veterans have sustained a TBI, and the effects on veterans and society will have a 70 year tail. Each day an estimated 18-22 veterans die by suicide.
More than 90% of children who die by suicide have a mental health condition. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death in youth ages 10 to 24.
1 in 3 seniors die with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is expected to triple in the next 30 years with no cure on the horizon.
Founded by Daniel G. Amen, MD in 2008, the End Mental Illness Now Foundation is dedicated to brain imaging research to change how psychiatric medicine is practiced; brain health education for all; and service for people who cannot afford it. Based on his 30 years using brain imaging tools, Dr. Amen knows you are not stuck with the brain you have, you can make it better, which drives the day-to-day work of our foundation.

Myself, my son and my grandson all played for the NFL, and we were all part of the NFL study funded by the Foundation. We’re all doing better now, thanks to the Amen Clinics program that has helped treat our brain injuries that you can’t even see. So how do we help people change and see the damage that they are doing to their brains? I want to support efforts that help people change their lives by changing their brains.

If I could go back in time and give myself anything for the sake of my well-being and everyone I ever cared for, I would make sure I received the gift of “Brain Healthy Habits” while still a teen. Since I cannot do that, the next best thing I can do is help to ensure that every teen I work with today has that opportunity.

Despite a successful 30 year Army career, my brain SPECT scan showed I had the ability to improve my brain further. I am actively engaged in brain healthy habits and passing them on to the veterans I support within my organization. With this powerful understanding and program, life just keeps getting better thanks to the work of the End Mental Illness Now Foundation.

I am a peak performance guy- I don’t want to come to Amen Clinics just because there is a problem, I come to enhance and take my life to the next level.
I highly recommend Amen Clinics to everyone who is looking to improve their health, promote longevity and care for their overall wellness. My life would not be the same without the lessons I learned from them.
Before I came to Amen Clinics, I was depressed and my anxiety was off the charts. Due to 300 hours of Hyperbaric oxygen treatments and having been so disciplined with my recovery I feel like I’m finally getting closer to feeling like myself again.
Playing a contact sport for so many years did so much damage it mesmerized me into not noticing the slow progression of brain function loss. I wish I had knowledge of this science while I was playing professional football- it would have helped prevent all of what had been lost over the years.
Amen Clinics and Dr. Amen helped to rescue my memory and brain which has changed my life.
I didn’t want to feel foggy and I didn’t want to continue doing damage to my brain. So I made big lifestyle changes that have completely healed my brain.
It took me many years to screw my brain up so it has taken me years to rehab it, too, to bring back some normalcy. It‘s a process, but I can feel the results.
Because of Amen Clinics, the shroud of a life-long mystery has been lifted which in turn has given me a real chance at life and has allowed my children and I a precious chance to get to know each other all over again.
Over the past 20 years, my colleagues and I have made thousands of referrals for brain SPECT imaging, because it helps to change lives. SPECT decreases stigma, as people see problems as medical and not moral, and people get better faster when you look at the brain before trying to change it. Your gift to the End Mental Illness Now Foundation will help alleviate the suffering of people who will in turn help others. It is a gift that may last for generations!
